Overview

Experienced CNC/Manual Machinist responsible for the end-to-end production of high-tolerance welded components. This role requires full autonomy in setting up and operating CNC and manual machinery, including the ability to load and optimize programs at the controller. You will be expected to interpret complex blueprints and use precision measuring tools to ensure that every part meets Bruno's quality standards. Additional duties include the setup and operation of Roll-In saws to maintain material flow.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC Metal Forming Machines, basic hand tools, Roll-In Saws, and possibly more. Perform manufacturing duties to meet daily production standards of quality and quantity.
  • Use measuring tools including, but not limited to, scanners, dial calipers, micrometers, tape measures.
  • Read and interpret work orders, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Communicate machine downtime, shortages, scrap, delays, and any deviation of standard work to the supervisor when applicable.
  • Assist in performing tests to develop bend programming to improve the function of the curved rail elevator rail.
  • Enter production data into Epicor (ERP) manufacturing software as necessary.
  • Support Training and Development activities as necessary.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements utilizing work instructions.
  • Perform additional work as needed, including but not limited to tube cleaning, de-nesting, deburring parts, miscellaneous fabrication, testing, and more.
  • Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and failure analysis while encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis of non-conforming manufactured products.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • High school or general education degree (GED) required. 
  • Minimum 1 year of machining experience or equivalent advanced education is required.
  • Previous experience with machining related to a custom product is preferred. Ability to read measuring tools including, but not limited to, tape measures, calipers, and various scanning equipment.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence. 
  • Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations. 
  • Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

 

  • Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand; use arms, hands and fingers to manipulate welding gun, hold fabrication parts in place, wire, fixtures and products and hold fabrication parts in place  
  • The job requires repetitive use of a MIG welding gun at shoulder level or below
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand on an elevated step or ladder while performing the duties of this job
  • Use of hands and fingers required to manipulate hand grinders and other fabrication tools
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, bend, twist and reach while performing the duties of this job
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, regularly
  • Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, intermittently
  • Ability to lift 50 to 70 pounds, with assistance, occasionally
  • Ability to physically relocate product throughout the day, regularly
  • The employee is required to reach and climb occasionally
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing work environment
